Obesity in America Lesson Plans

Students will watch a documentary about the obesity epidemic in America, form their position on the Big-Soda Ban and devise a plan of action to fight obesity in their community.

Discussion Guide

 

Lesson Plan 1- Who’s to Blame for Obesity

Objective:  Students will view a documentary about the obesity epidemic in America and participate in a discussion

 

Lesson Plan 2- Big Soda Ban

Objective:  Students will learn about the ban of big sodas in New York and California, conduct further research and create a presentation to express their position on the issue

 

Lesson Plan 3- Taking Action

Objective:  Students will work in groups to design a plan of action to fight obesity in their community
